This holiday season, the employees here at Association Services wanted to help make a difference. Each year, the office adopts a family for Christmas. We all pitch in money and buy gifts and presents for a family in need. This year, however, we wanted to do something in addition to adopting a family. Something bigger. During this time of economic downturn, we realized that the need is much more than a few toys or video games. We decided to contact a local elementary school in our area and ask how we could help. We were shocked to hear that many kids were in desperate need of shoes and socks. So we decided to do something about it.
Each employee personally donated money to help purchase shoes and socks. We then turned our efforts towards our vendors, and asked them to partner with us to ensure that every child had a pair of warm shoes this winter.
After a month of collecting, we were able to purchase a total of 38 pairs of shoes and socks.
